1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of this body wish to express their
3 sincere condolences to the family of Fred Douglas Lyle, who
4 recently passed away; and
5 WHEREAS, Fred Douglas Lyle was born in Utica, Mississippi
6 on April 4, 1932; his parents were Joseph and Istolena Lyle;
7 at Zion Travelers Baptist Church he accepted Jesus Christ and
8 was baptized; and
9 WHEREAS, Fred Lyle served with the United States Army,
10 and then began careers with the Cook County Sheriff's
11 Department and Conrail; while working with the Sheriff's
12 Department he helped a young woman gain her innocence; in
13 later years the young lady went on the television program
14 "Unsolved Mysteries" to seek out the man who had helped her;
15 twenty years after her incarceration, she was able to meet
16 Fred Lyle and thank him for his help; and
17 WHEREAS, Fred Douglas Lyle is survived by his children,
18 Udoxie Hampton, Jimmie Lyle, Alderman Freddrenna M. Lyle, and
19 Camilla Lyle-Blair; his grandchildren, Ronald Hampton,
20 Reynold Hampton, Trina Lyle, Eric Hampton, Ursula Hampton,
21 Jamien Lyle, Jule Lyle, and Jimmie Lyle II; his eight
22 great-grandchildren; his brother, Birt Lyle; his sisters,
23 Edith Anderson, Carrie Griffin, and Willena Butler; his
24 special, devoted friend, Sarah Woodard; his nieces and
25 nephews, cousins, and many friends; therefore, be it
26 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
27 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
28 mourn, along with his family and friends, the death of Fred
29 Douglas Lyle; may they find comfort in this time of need; and
30 be it further
31 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
