1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives wish to say farewell to their colleague and
4 friend, Representative Suzanne L. Deuchler; and
5 WHEREAS, Representative Deuchler is from the 42nd
6 District and a resident of Aurora; she and her husband,
7 Walter, have one grandchild; Representative Deuchler has a
8 Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish and Speech from the
9 University of Illinois; and
10 WHEREAS, She is the Co-founder of the Illinois Math and
11 Science Academy; she is associated with the American
12 Association of University Women, the Greater Aurora Chamber
13 of Commerce, the Women in Management Aurora Branch, the
14 Aurora Business and Professional Women's Club, the Altrusa
15 Club of Aurora, the American Legion Auxiliary #630, and
16 Aurora College; she is a member of the Fox Valley Health
17 Services Board, the Aurora Regional Advisory Committee to the
18 Department of Children and Family Services, the Aurora
19 University Citizen's Advisory Board, and the Joseph
20 Corporation of the Illinois Advisory Board; and
21 WHEREAS, Representative Deuchler has received many
22 awards, including: Woman of the Year from the YWCA, Woman of
23 the Year from Beta Sigma Phi, Woman of the Year from the
24 Aurora Business and Professional Women's Club, the Friend of
25 Agriculture awards from the Illinois Farm Bureau and the
26 Illinois Agricultural Association, and the Outstanding
27 Legislator award from the Kane County Farm Bureau, the
28 Illinois Taxpayers Federation, and the National Taxpayers
29 United of Illinois; and
30 WHEREAS, While serving with the Illinois House,
31 Representative Deuchler served on the following key
32 committees: Personnel and Pensions, Human Services, and

1 Appropriations-General Services and Government Oversight;
2 Representative Deuchler also served as Spokesman for the
3 Financial Institutions Committee; and
4 WHEREAS, Representative Deuchler has also served on the
5 Conference of Women Legislators, the Citizens Council on
6 Energy Resources, the Immigration Reform Task Force, and the
7 White House Conference on Children; therefore, be it
8 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
9 NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
10 salute Representative Suzanne Deuchler on a job well done; we
11 wish her much success in her future; and be it further
12 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13 presented to Representative Suzanne Deuchler, along with our
14 sincere regards.
