 1                    AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 351
 2        AMENDMENT NO.     .  Amend Senate Bill 351 on page  1  by
 3    replacing lines 8 through 12 with the following:
 4        "Sec.  6.18.  Instruction on Heimlich maneuver to mothers
 5    of newborns.  As part of the process of discharging a newborn
 6    infant, a hospital shall provide  the  infant's  mother  with
 7    material  prepared and provided by the Department instructing
 8    the mother on how to properly perform the  Heimlich  maneuver
 9    on  the  infant.   The  hospital  shall  answer  the mother's
10    questions  regarding  the  maneuver  or  refer  her  to   the
11    Department for further information.".
