 1                    AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 521
 2        AMENDMENT NO.     .  Amend Senate Bill 521 on page 2,  by
 3    inserting between lines 2 and 3 the following:
 4             "(2.5)  To  the  lawful compensation or benefits, or
 5        both, provided to an informant under a  local  anti-crime
 6        program,  such  as  Crime  Stoppers,  We-Tip, and similar
 7        programs designed to solve  crimes  or  that  foster  the
 8        detection  of  crime  and  encourage  persons through the
 9        programs and otherwise to come forward  with  information
10        about criminal activity.
11             (2.6)  To  the  lawful  compensation or benefits, or
12        both, provided by a private individual to another private
13        individual.".
