1 AN ACT to amend the University of Illinois Act by
2 changing Section 7f.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The University of Illinois Act is amended by
6 changing Section 7f as follows:
7 (110 ILCS 305/7f) (from Ch. 144, par. 28f)
8 Sec. 7f. Tuition waivers for children of employees.
9 (a) Each year the Board of Trustees of the University of
10 Illinois shall offer 50% tuition waivers for undergraduate
11 education at any campus under its governance or supervision
12 to the children of employees of the University who have been
13 employed by the University for at least 7 years. To be
14 eligible to receive a partial tuition waiver, the child of an
15 employee of the University (i) must be under the age of 25 at
16 the commencement of the academic year during which the
17 partial tuition waiver is to be effective, and (ii) must
18 qualify for admission to the University under the same
19 admissions requirements, standards and policies which the
20 University applies to applicants for admission generally to
21 its respective undergraduate colleges and programs.
22 (b) Subject to the provisions and limitations of
23 subsection (a), an eligible applicant who has continued to
24 maintain satisfactory academic progress toward graduation may
25 have his or her partial tuition waiver renewed until the time
26 as he or she has expended 4 years of undergraduate partial
27 tuition waiver benefits under this Section.
28 (c) No partial tuition waiver offered or allocated to
29 any eligible applicant in accordance with the provisions of
30 this Section shall be charged against any tuition waiver
31 limitation established by the Illinois Board of Higher

1 Education.
2 (d) The Board of Trustees shall prescribe rules and
3 regulations as are necessary to implement and administer the
4 provisions of this Section.
