1 AN ACT to amend the Code of Civil Procedure by changing
2 Section 2-603.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Code of Civil Procedure is amended by
6 changing Section 2-603 as follows:
7 (735 ILCS 5/2-603) (from Ch. 110, par. 2-603)
8 Sec. 2-603. Form of pleadings.
9 (a) All pleadings shall contain a plain and concise
10 statement of the pleader's cause of action, counterclaim,
11 defense, or reply.
12 (b) Each separate cause of action upon which a separate
13 recovery might be had shall be stated in a separate count or
14 counterclaim, as the case may be. and Each count,
15 counterclaim, defense, or reply, shall be separately pleaded,
16 designated, and numbered, and each shall be divided into
17 paragraphs numbered consecutively., Each paragraph shall
18 contain containing, as nearly as possible may be, a separate
19 allegation.
20 (c) Pleadings shall be liberally construed with a view
21 to doing substantial justice between the parties.
