65 ILCS 5/11-80-2a from Ch. 24, par. 11-80-2a
Amends the Illinois Municipal Code. Provides that a
municipality with a population over 1,000,000 that receives
State funds for the maintenance of streets or roads within
that municipality shall not restrict parking on any street or
road to residents only, except that a municipality may
restrict parking to residents only during special events for
which a special parking sticker may be required.

1 AN ACT to amend the Illinois Municipal Code by changing
2 Section 11-80-2a.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Illinois Municipal Code is amended by
6 changing Section 11-80-2a as follows:
7 (65 ILCS 5/11-80-2a) (from Ch. 24, par. 11-80-2a)
8 Sec. 11-80-2a. Parking. A municipality with a
9 population of over 1,000,000 that receives State funds for
10 the maintenance of streets or roads within that municipality
11 shall not restrict parking on any street or road in that
12 municipality to residents only, except that a municipality
13 may restrict parking in residential areas during special
14 events for which a special parking sticker may then be
15 required In areas zoned for residential use, the corporate
16 authorities may restrict part of each street for "residents
17 parking only".
