1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Senate were saddened to learn
3 of the recent death of Mrs. Alicia Marie Prater of Chicago;
4 and
5 WHEREAS, She was born in Chicago on January 25, 1955, the
6 daughter of Dolores and Joseph Yancey and received her
7 education at St. Dorothy Elementary School and the Academy of
8 Our Lady in Chicago; she studied in Bremen, Germany, and
9 continued her education at Chicago State University; and
10 WHEREAS, Mrs. Prater had worked as an administrative
11 assistant for the State of Illinois, a personal banking
12 representative at Hyde Park Bank, a senior accountant for the
13 Marian Career Training Center, a teacher at Sacred Heart and
14 Jesus Our Brother Elementary Schools, and an employee of
15 Allstate Insurance; and
16 WHEREAS, Her warm and caring nature will be deeply missed
17 by her family and friends, especially her husband, Kevin; her
18 children, Kevie, Nicole, and Jeremy; her parents, Joseph and
19 Dolores Yancey; her brothers, Joe, John, Michael, and Shea;
20 her sisters, Clare and Paula; her mother-in-law, Pauline; her
21 godmother, Verinna; her "other mother", Swerzie; aunts,
22 Leila, Eloise, Doris, Deborah, Marcheta, Marietta, Alene, and
23 Zolla; uncles, Luther, Ernest, Jimmie, Jessie, Richard, and
24 Holmes; and her extended aunts, Joan and Rita; therefore, be
25 it
26 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY
27 OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we note with sorrow and regret
28 the death of Mrs. Alicia Marie Prater and extend our sincere
29 condolences to her family and friends; and be it further
30 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
31 presented to her husband, Kevin Prater.
