1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Senate were saddened to learn
3 of the death of Simon Ronald Pomatto of Gillespie on Sunday,
4 April 6, 1997; and
5 WHEREAS, Mr. Pomatto was employed by the Illinois
6 Department of Transportation with the Highway Maintenance
7 Division; and
8 WHEREAS, He was born in Wilsonville on August 15, 1938;
9 and
10 WHEREAS, An alderman of Gillespie, he was involved in
11 various community groups and organizations, including Chapter
12 EGWR, Honda Riders of America, and the Mississippi Valley DX
13 and Contest Club; he was an avid ham radio operator; and
14 WHEREAS, Simon Pomatto will be deeply missed by his
15 family and friends, especially his wife, Ruth Ann; his
16 parents, Martin and Mary Pomatto; his sons, Dwayne and Ron;
17 his daughter, Sherri Caveny; his daughter-in-law, JoAnn; his
18 son-in-law, Jim Caveny; his sister, Marleen Morris; his
19 cousins, JoAnn Buckner and Julie Morgan; and his
20 grandchildren, Anthony and Molly Pomatto; therefore, be it
21 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY
22 OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we note with sorrow and regret
23 the death of Simon Pomatto and extend our sincere condolences
24 to his family and friends; and be it further
25 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
26 presented to his widow, Mrs. Ruth Ann Pomatto.
