1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of This Body wish to extend their
3 condolences to the family of Keith Edward Bernard, who passed
4 away on February 28, 1997; and
5 WHEREAS, Keith Bernard was born in Kansas City, Missouri
6 on July 3, 1958; he was the eldest child of John L. and
7 Carolyn S. Bernard; and
8 WHEREAS, Keith Bernard was educated in the St. Louis
9 Public Schools; he graduated from Southwest High School in
10 1976; Keith was trained as an over the road truck driver; and
11 WHEREAS, Keith recognized the need for religious training
12 early in his life; he joined with the Antioch Baptist Church,
13 where he was baptized by Reverend William Collins, Jr.; and
14 WHEREAS, Keith is remembered for being a people person;
15 he was always joking and trying to make the people around him
16 smile; he is remembered for his generosity; Keith leaves
17 behind many people who were touched by his life; and
18 WHEREAS, Keith Bernard is survived by his wife Cynthia
19 Graves Bernard; his children Keith, Jr., Lance, and Keshia;
20 his brother John Aaron; his sisters Diane Carol, Vicki Lynn
21 (Oliver), and Yvgonne Robin (Glass); and his aunts, uncles,
22 nephews, cousins, great aunts, and several friends;
23 therefore, be it
24 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY
25 OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the death of Keith
26 Edward Bernard, and extend to his family and friends, our
27 deepest sympathy; and be it further
28 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
29 presented to the family of Keith Edward Bernard.
