1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Senate were saddened to learn
3 of the death of Rachel Rose Donaldson on February 1, 1998;
4 and
5 WHEREAS, She was born in Chicago on August 15, 1964, the
6 daughter of Joseph and Arlener Donaldson; and
7 WHEREAS, She attended St. Anne and St. Charles Lwange
8 Grammar School, graduating with honors and a recipient of the
9 Martin Luther King Jr. Social Services Award; she graduated
10 from Queen of Peace High School in Burbank in 1982 and went
11 on to study mathematics and computer science at Rosary
12 College in River Forest; and
13 WHEREAS, She held various positions of employment at
14 Northern Trust Bank, Southwest YMCA, and the Chicago Defender
15 Newspaper; and
16 WHEREAS, Her passing will be deeply felt by her family
17 and friends, especially her parents, Joseph and Arlener
18 Donaldson; her brothers and sisters, Joseph, Jr., Rafael,
19 Paul, Kimberly Anne, LaSallye Monica, Lawrence, Cecilia,
20 Timothy, Rosalita Monica, and Eleanora; her nephews,
21 Christopher, Joseph III, Mal, Rafael Steven, Roger Paul,
22 Christopher-Jamal, Charles, Jordan-Kamal, Lawrence Milik,
23 Aaron-Ade, and Emajh-Jamaal; her nieces, Joy,
24 Kristina-Arlene, and Jasmine-Grace; her great grand uncle,
25 Charles; and many other aunts, uncles, and cousins;
26 therefore, be it
27 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY
28 OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we note with sorrow and regret
29 the death of Rachel Rose Donaldson and extend our sincere
30 condolences to her family; and be it further
31 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
