1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Senate were saddened to learn
3 of the death of Robert P. Trinski of Fort Myers, Florida,
4 formerly of Fox Lake, on Friday, April 17, 1998; and
5 WHEREAS, He was born in Chicago on December 2, 1921, the
6 son of Phillip and Aurelie Drabza Trinski; and
7 WHEREAS, He started his career with the Illinois State
8 Police as a trooper assigned to the motorcycle division,
9 where he attained the rank of sergeant; he joined the Cook
10 County Sheriff's Department and was in command of a
11 specialized vice unit serving a total of seven years with the
12 sheriff's office; he then joined the Chicago Police
13 Department, where he served for a total of 27 years; he
14 received a temporary assignment to the Cook County State
15 Attorney's Office; he returned to the Chicago Police
16 Department in the bomb and arson division; and
17 WHEREAS, After his retirement from the Chicago Police
18 Department, he accepted the position of Chief of Police for
19 the Village of Fox Lake; after retiring he was asked to
20 accept the position of deputy chief of the Lake County Marina
21 Unit; and
22 WHEREAS, He also ran his own businesses during this time,
23 starting with the Trent Cartage Company; in 1960, he started
24 the Arrow Marine Company in Fox Lake; in 1969, he opened the
25 Arrow Marine Transport Business in Fox Lake; and
26 WHEREAS, He also served as a director of security for the
27 Borg Warner Corp., was a former director at the Richmond
28 State Bank, was a longtime member of the Fraternal Order of
29 Police Lodge 90, the Lake County Chiefs of Police, the
30 Illinois Police Association, the Fox Lake Police Association,
31 the Fox Lake Chamber of Commerce, the Fox Lake Lions Club,

1 the Fox Lake Rotary, the American Power Boat Association, and
2 the Waukegan Yacht Club; and
3 WHEREAS, His passing will be deeply felt by his family
4 and friends, especially his wife, Shirley; his sons, Robert,
5 James, and Michael; his granddaughters, Marie Marsaglia,
6 Nikkee Britton, Scherle Trinski, and Christine Trinski; his
7 great-grandson, Jeffrey Trinski; his great-granddaughters,
8 Samantha and Savanna Britton; and his sister-in-law, Lola
9 Brady; therefore, be it
10 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY
11 OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we note with sorrow and regret
12 the death of Robert P. Trinski and extend to his family and
13 friends our sincere condolences; and be it further
14 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this preamble be
15 presented to Mrs. Shirley Trinski.
