1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Senate are saddened to learn
3 of the death of William V. Fahnestock of Bartonville on
4 Tuesday, September 1, 1998; and
5 WHEREAS, He was born on February 18, 1908 in Rock
6 Springs, Wyoming, the son of Harry and Emily Deal Fahnestock;
7 he was married to the former Gladys F. Ross on July 20, 1928,
8 she died on May 5,1990; and
9 WHEREAS, He worked at Caterpillar Inc. for 37 years,
10 retiring in 1970; and
11 WHEREAS, He was affiliated with Verlin M. Showalter
12 Masonic Lodge 1172, Mohammed Temple Shrine, Bartonville Lions
13 Club, and Bradley Chiefs Club; and
14 WHEREAS, He served with the Limestone Township government
15 for more than 50 years, and also served on the boards of
16 Bartonville Grade School and Limestone High School; and
17 WHEREAS, He was given the title this year of "Mr.
18 Republican of Peoria County" by the Peoria County Board and
19 was honored by Senator George Shadid for his 50 years of
20 service to Limestone Township and the Republican Party in
21 Peoria County; and
22 WHEREAS, His passing will be deeply felt by his family
23 and friends, especially his daughters, Doris Sevier and Mary
24 Hermann; his sons, Richard and Ronald; eight grandchildren;
25 and five great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
26 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY
27 OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we note with sorrow and regret
28 the death of William V. Fahnestock and extend our sincere
29 condolences to his family and friends; and be it further
30 RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
