1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to
3 express their condolences to the family and friends of Louis
4 Ricchiardi, who passed away December 2, 1998; and
5 WHEREAS, Louis Ricchiardi was born in Virden, Illinois,
6 on December 18, 1918; his parents were John and Jessie Girot
7 Ricchiardi; on August 15, 1940 he married Lena Draghi in
8 Hillsboro, Illinois; and
9 WHEREAS, Mr. Ricchiardi was a graduate of Gillespie High
10 School; he served in the United States Army, and was a
11 veteran of the second World War, serving in both the European
12 and African Middle Eastern Theaters; Mr. Ricchiardi received
13 the Bronze Star Medal for his service; and
14 WHEREAS, From 1952 to 1998 Mr. Ricchiardi owned and
15 operated Ricchiardi Clothing; he was a member of Ss. Mary &
16 Joseph Catholic Church; he was a member of Guy Baird American
17 Legion Post #554, serving as the finance officer; he was a
18 member of the Carlinville VFW Post #1104; he was a member of
19 the Carlinville Moose Lodge; Mr. Ricchiardi was a former
20 member and past exalted ruler of the Carlinville Elks Lodge
21 #1412; and a co-founder of the Carlinville Football Club; and
22 WHEREAS, Mr. Ricchiardi is survived by his three sons,
23 John, Larry, and Terry; six grandchildren; two
24 great-grandchildren; his sister, Victoria Auda; and several
25 nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
26 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY
27 OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his
28 family and friends, the death of Louis Ricchiardi of
29 Carlinville, Illinois; and be it further
30 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
31 presented to the family of Louis Ricchiardi, along with our
