1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to
3 extend their sincere sympathy to the family of Ruth Coatney,
4 who passed away on December 6, 1998; and
5 WHEREAS, Ruth Coatney was born on in Worden, Illinois, on
6 August 9, 1938; her parents were George and Alma Sievers
7 Schmidt; on December 2, 1961 she married Raymond L. "Beaver"
8 Coatney in Hamel, Illinois; and
9 WHEREAS, For over 15 years, Mrs. Coatney worked as a
10 secretary for Farm Credit Services; she was a member and the
11 organist of Zion Lutheran Church; she was a member of the
12 Zion Lutheran Ladies Aid, and directed the church choir; she
13 was also a past member of the Carlinville Community Choir;
14 and
15 WHEREAS, Ruth Coatney is survived by her husband; her
16 son, Phil, and daughter-in-law, Lynanne; her son, Steve, and
17 daughter-in-law, Kristin; her daughter, Cindy Stayton, and
18 son-in-law, Brad; her five grandchildren, Derek Stayton, Dane
19 Stayton, Damon Stayton, Chelsea Coatney, and Maxwell Coatney;
20 her brothers, Norman Schmidt and Eldon Schmidt; her sisters,
21 Carol Prange and Doris Schmidt; as well as several nieces and
22 nephews; therefore, be it
23 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETIETH GENERAL ASSEMBLY
24 OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her
25 family and friends, the death of Ruth Coatney of Carlinville,
26 Illinois; may they find comfort in this time of need; and be
27 it further
28 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
29 presented to the family of Ruth Coatney, along with our
30 condolences.
