1 AN ACT making appropriations.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The amount of $29,175,000 or so much of that
5 amount as may be necessary, is appropriated from the General
6 Revenue Fund to the Teachers' Retirement System of the State
7 of Illinois for transfer into the Teachers' Health Insurance
8 Security Fund as the State's contribution for teachers'
9 health benefits.
10 Section 10. The following amounts, or so much thereof as
11 may be necessary, are appropriated to the Teachers'
12 Retirement System of the State of Illinois for the State's
13 contribution, as provided by law:
14 Payable from the General Revenue Fund ......... $52,412,400
15 Payable from the Common School Fund ........... $526,026,600
16 Total, this Section ....................... $578,439,000
17 Section 15. The sum of $55,600,000, minus the amount
18 transferred to the Teachers' Retirement System of the State
19 of Illinois pursuant to the continuing appropriation
20 authorized by the State Pensions Fund Continuing
21 Appropriations Act, is appropriated from the State Pensions
22 Fund to the Board of Trustees of the Teachers' Retirement
23 System of the State of Illinois pursuant to the provisions of
24 Section 8.12 of the State Finance Act.
25 Section 20. The following named amounts, or so much
26 thereof as may be necessary, respectively, are appropriated
27 from the General Revenue Fund to the Teachers' Retirement
28 System of the State of Illinois for the objects and purposes

1 hereinafter named:
2 For supplemental benefits pursuant to
3 Sections 16-135 and 16-149.4 of the Pension
4 Code ........................................ $35,000
5 For additional costs due to the establishment
6 of minimum benefits under Sections 16-136.2
7 and 136.3 of the Pension Code ............... $6,000,000
8 Total, this Section ....................... $6,035,000
9 Section 99. Effective Date. This Act takes effect July
10 1, 1999.
