1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1676
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend House Bill 1676 on page 1,
3 line 8, by changing "Intermodel" to "Intermodal"; and
4 on page 1, by replacing lines 15 through 20 with the
5 following:
6 ""Equipment provider" is the owner of an intermodal
7 trailer, chassis, or container. This includes any forwarding
8 company, water carrier, steamship line, railroad, vehicle
9 equipment leasing company, and their subsidiary or affiliated
10 companies owning the equipment."; and
11 on page 2, line 19, by changing "interchanging" to
12 "interchange"; and
13 on page 3, by replacing lines 3 through 6 with the following:
14 "are discovered, a rebuttable presumption existed at the time
15 of the interchange. If a"; and
16 on page 3, by replacing lines 9 through 12 with the
17 following:
18 "(2) A rebuttable presumption exists that the following
19 defects were present at the time of the interchange:"; and
20 on page 5, line 10, by changing "vehicle" to "equipment"; and
21 on page 5, line 19, by changing "vehicle" to "equipment"; and

1 on page 5, line 20, after "action.", by inserting "If the
2 equipment provider fails to reimburse the operator within 30
3 days, the operator has a civil cause of action against the
4 equipment provider.".
