 1                    AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1718

 2        AMENDMENT NO.     .  Amend House Bill 1718 as follows:

 3    on page 2, line 22, after "1998", by inserting the following:

 4    "and fiscal year 1999"; and

 5    on line 29, after the period, by inserting the following:

 6    "For fiscal  year  2000  and  subsequent  fiscal  years,  the
 7    Illinois  Department  shall  establish  an income eligibility
 8    threshold equal to the State median income  for  fiscal  year
 9    2000.".
