1 AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 2194
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend House Bill 2194 on page 2, by
3 replacing lines 26 through 33 with the following:
4 "(a) An individual who has passed the Uniform CPA
5 Examination and who holds a valid, unrevoked license or
6 permit to practice as a public accountant from a state or
7 United States territory in which he or she resides or has his
8 or her principal place of business, and who does not reside
9 or have his or her principal place of business in this State,
10 may practice public accounting within this State without the
11 need to obtain a license under this Act. Such practice shall
12 be conducted in accordance with the relevant provisions of
13 this Act and rules and regulations adopted hereunder.
14 Licensed"; and
15 on page 3 by deleting lines 1 through 12; and
16 on page 3 by deleting lines 33 and 34; and
17 on page 4, by deleting lines 1 through 12; and
18 on page 7, by replacing lines 31 through 33 with the
19 following:
20 "Sec. 14.2. Licensure by endorsement. The Department
21 shall issue a license as a public accountant to any applicant
22 who holds a valid unrevoked license or permit to practice as

1 a public accountant issued under the laws of any other state
2 or territory of the United States or the District of
3 Columbia, provided:
4 (1) the individual applicant is determined by the
5 Department to possess personal qualifications
6 substantially equivalent to this State's current
7 licensing requirements;
8 (2) at the time the applicant received his or her
9 current valid and unrevoked license or permit, the
10 applicant possessed qualifications substantially
11 equivalent to the qualifications for licensure then in
12 effect in this State; or
13 (3) the applicant has, after passing the
14 examination upon which his or her license or other permit
15 to practice was based, not less than 4 years of
16 experience in the practice of public accounting within
17 the 10 years immediately before the application."; and
18 by deleting page 8; and
19 on page 9, line 18, after "State" by inserting "or another
20 state".
