 1                    AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 3435

 2        AMENDMENT NO.     .  Amend House Bill 3435 on page 1,  by
 3    replacing lines 1 and 2 with the following:

 4        "AN  ACT concerning the levy of taxes by school boards.";
 5    and

 6    on page  1,  immediately  below  line  4,  by  inserting  the
 7    following:

 8        "Section  3.  The  Property Tax Code is amended by adding
 9    Section 18-72 as follows:

10        (35 ILCS 200/18-72 new)
11        Sec. 18-72.  A school board shall give public  notice  of
12    and   hold  a  public  hearing  on  its  intent  to  amend  a
13    certificate of tax levy under Section 17-11.1 of  the  School
14    Code.".
