1 AN ACT making appropriations to the Attorney General.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 1. The following named sums, or so much thereof
5 as may be necessary, respectively, are appropriated to the
6 Attorney General to meet the ordinary and contingent expenses
7 of the following divisions of the Office of the Attorney
8 General:

8 Section 2. The sum of $1,050,000, or so much thereof as
9 is available for use by the Attorney General, is appropriated
10 to the Attorney General from the Illinois Gaming Law
11 Enforcement Fund for State law enforcement purposes.
12 Section 3. The following named sums, or so much thereof
13 as may be necessary, respectively, are appropriated from the
14 Asbestos Abatement Fund to the Attorney General to meet the
15 ordinary and contingent expenses of the Asbestos Litigation
16 Division:

30 Section 4. The amount of $2,500,000, or so much thereof
31 as may be necessary, is appropriated from the Attorney

1 General Court Ordered and Voluntary Compliance Payment
2 Projects Fund to the Office of the Attorney General for use,
3 subject to pertinent court order or agreement, in the
4 performance of any function pertaining to the exercise of the
5 duties of the Attorney General, including State law
6 enforcement and public education.
7 Section 5. The amount of $500,000, or so much thereof as
8 may be necessary, is appropriated from the Illinois Charity
9 Bureau Fund to the Office of the Attorney General to enforce
10 the provisions of the Solicitation for Charity Act and to
11 gather and disseminate to the information about charitable
12 trustees and organizations to the public.
13 Section 6. The amount of $600,000, or so much thereof as
14 may be necessary, is appropriated from the Whistleblower
15 Reward and Protection Fund to the Office of the Attorney
16 General for State law enforcement purposes.
17 Section 7. The amount of $800,000, or so much thereof as
18 may be necessary, is appropriated from the Capital Litigation
19 Trust Fund to the Attorney General for financial support
20 under the Attorney General Act for the several county State's
21 Attorneys outside of Cook County.
22 Section 8. The amount of $400,000, or so much thereof as
23 may be necessary, is appropriated from the Tobacco Settlement
24 Recovery Fund to the Attorney General for the funding of a
25 new unit responsible for oversight, enforcement, and
26 implementation of the Master Settlement Agreement entered in
27 the case of People of the State of Illinois v. Philip Morris,
28 et al. (Circuit Court of Cook County, No. 96L13146), for
29 enforcement of the Tobacco Product Manufacturers' Escrow Act,
30 and for handling remaining tobacco-related litigation.

1 Section 9. The amount of $3,000,000, or so much thereof
2 as may be necessary, is appropriated from the Attorney
3 General's State Projects and Court Ordered Distribution Fund
4 to the Attorney General for payment of interagency agreements
5 and court ordered distributions to third parties and, subject
6 to pertinent court order, for performance of any function
7 pertaining to the exercise of the duties of the Attorney
8 General, including State law enforcement and public
9 education.
10 Section 10. The amount of $50,000, or so much thereof as
11 may be necessary, is appropriated from the Attorney General's
12 Grant Fund to the Office of the Attorney General to be
13 expended in accordance with the terms and conditions upon
14 which those funds were received.
15 Section 11. The following named amounts, or so much
16 thereof as may be necessary, respectively, for the objects
17 and purposes named in this Section, are appropriated to meet
18 the ordinary and contingent expenses of the Attorney General:

1 Section 12. The amount of $3,507,400, or so much thereof
2 as may be necessary, is appropriated from the Attorney
3 General Federal Grant Fund to the Office of the Attorney
4 General for funding for federal grants.
5 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July
6 1, 2000.
