 1                    AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 4738

 2        AMENDMENT NO.     .  Amend House Bill 4738,  on  page  1,
 3    line 21, after the period, by inserting the following:
 4    "Before   April   1,   2001,   the  Comptroller  shall  order
 5    transferred and the Treasurer shall  transfer  an  additional
 6    $24,000,000  from the Tobacco Settlement Recovery Fund to the
 7    Homeowners' Tax Relief Fund, a  special  fund  in  the  State
 8    Treasury."; and

 9    on  page  1,  line  23,  after  the  period, by inserting the
10    following:
11    "Subject to appropriation,  the  Department  shall  make  the
12    rebate  payments  authorized  under  Section 208.2 out of the
13    Homeowners' Tax Relief Fund."; and

14    on  page  2,  line  13,  after  "principal",   by   inserting
15    "Illinois".
