1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of this Body were saddened to learn
3 of the death of Thelma Genevieve McIntosh Blue of Danville on
4 Sunday, February 7, 1999; and
5 WHEREAS, She was born in Danville on July 24, 1906; she
6 attended McKinley and Washington Schools and graduated from
7 Danville High School and Normal Teachers' College in Normal;
8 and
9 WHEREAS, She was a primary teacher at Oaklawn, Grant, and
10 Tilton Schools; and
11 WHEREAS, She married Charles D. Blue in Danville on
12 August 16, 1930; he preceded her in death on July 30, 1965;
13 and
14 WHEREAS, She was a charter member of St. James United
15 Methodist Church where she was involved in United Methodist
16 Women and Circle 3; she was a member of the Vermillion County
17 Museum, the Danville Women's Club, and the Vermillion County
18 Retired Teachers Association; and
19 WHEREAS, Her passing will be deeply felt by her family
20 and friends, especially her daughter, Nancy Carolyn Blue, and
21 her brothers, Carl W. McIntosh, Stephen Loy McIntosh, and
22 Robert Franklin McIntosh; therefore, be it
23 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
24 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
25 we note with sorrow and regret the death of Thelma Genevieve
26 Blue and extend our deepest condolences to her family and
27 friends; and be it further
28 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
29 presented to her daughter, Nancy Carolyn Blue.
