1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to honor milestones in the State
4 of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, St. Pancratius Church, located on the southwest
6 side of Chicago, is in the midst of celebrating 75 years of
7 ministry to the families of the area where it is located; and
8 WHEREAS, St. Pancratius Church was established in the
9 Brighton Park neighborhood in March of 1924; the first Mass
10 was held on March 9, 1924; on November 9, 1924, the
11 cornerstone of the new school building was dedicated; and on
12 August 9, 1959, a new church was opened and the first Mass
13 was celebrated in the new building; and
14 WHEREAS, St. Pancratius Church Pastors have included:
15 Father Radniecki, the first Pastor of the church; Father
16 Nowicki, second Pastor; Father Boleslaus Niec, third Pastor;
17 Father Walter Stefanski, fourth Pastor; Father Joseph
18 Grembla, fifth Pastor; and current Pastor, Father Andrew
19 Wypych; and
20 WHEREAS, Since October of 1998, the church has been
21 celebrating their Diamond Jubilee year; a special Mass was
22 celebrated with many former priests of the parish in
23 attendance; a memorial service, Christmas dinner, Catholic
24 Schools Week, Valentine Dance, a marriage celebration, St.
25 Pancratius Feast Day, and Summerfest have all been celebrated
26 this year with the 75th anniversary in mind; and
27 WHEREAS, St. Pancratius Church and the people of the
28 parish are to be congratulated for their hard work and
29 dedication to their church and their community; therefore, be
30 it
31 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE

1 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
2 we congratulate the congregation and staff of St. Pancratius
3 Church on the 75th anniversary of the church; and be it
4 further
5 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
6 presented to the parish of St. Pancratius Church.
