1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are saddened to learn of the recent death of
4 Molly Smith of Chicago, Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, Molly Smith was the beloved daughter of William
6 and Ada McCall; she was one of a set of twins in a family
7 with nine children; she attended school in Yazoo City,
8 Mississippi; she accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and was
9 married to Napoleon Smith before they moved to Chicago in
10 1945; and
11 WHEREAS, Molly Smith worked in the food industry,
12 part-time with the City of Chicago, and worked to raise her
13 children; while working, she also attended night school at
14 Parker High School; and
15 WHEREAS, Molly Smith is survived by her children,
16 Charlie, Johnnie (Wilma), LoCo (Nona), Robert, Willie
17 (Jackie), Bobbie, Ruth, David, Larry, and Linda (William);
18 her 43 grandchildren; her 45 great-grandchildren; her many
19 great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Corine; her
20 sister-in-law, Tressie; her brother-in-law, Jack; her special
21 god sister, Elizabeth Luckie; her special god children,
22 Yronne and Holden Harley Holmes; her special god
23 granddaughter, Daria; her many nieces, nephews, relatives,
24 and close friends; she was preceded in death by her husband,
25 parents, her four sisters, and her three brothers; therefore,
26 be it
27 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
28 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
29 we extend our sincere sympathies to the family and friends of
30 Molly Smith; may they find peace and comfort in this time of
31 need; and be it further

1 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
2 presented to the family of Molly Smith.
