1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The institution of marriage is one of the
3 cornerstones upon which our society is built, and a marriage
4 that has achieved a notable longevity is truly a model for
5 the people of the State of Illinois; and
6 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Mr. and Mrs.
7 George Winger, who reside on Kellart Lake north of Cissna
8 Park, celebrated the seventy-fifth anniversary of their
9 marriage; and
10 WHEREAS, George and Gladys Winger were united in holy
11 matrimony on January 10, 1925 in Kankakee, Illinois; and
12 WHEREAS, They are the loving parents of Jean, Lila,
13 Marilyn, and Gordon, and the grandparents of five
14 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one
15 great-great-grandchild; and
16 WHEREAS, The respect for marriage reaches one of its
17 highest plateaus when a couple such as George and Gladys
18 celebrate their seventy-fifth wedding anniversary; and
19 WHEREAS, George and Gladys stand as examples of the best
20 of our society, and their love and devotion to each other and
21 to their family and friends serve as a reminder to all that
22 hard work, dedication, and love can make a difference in
23 today's world; therefore, be it
24 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
25 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
26 we congratulate Mr. and Mrs. George Winger on the occasion of
27 their seventy-fifth wedding anniversary; that we commend them
28 for achieving a long and happy marriage, blessed with
29 children and grandchildren and rich in friendships; and that
30 we wish them happiness and good health in the future; and be
31 it further

2 presented to them as an expression of our respect and esteem.
