1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House wish to
3 express their sincere condolences to the family and friends
4 of James D. "Jim" Johnson, Jr. of Bloomington, Illinois, who
5 passed away on October 25, 2000; and
6 WHEREAS, James D. Johnson, Jr. was born on October 31,
7 1950 in Waukegan, Illinois to James and Nathalie Johnson; and
8 WHEREAS, James D. Johnson, Jr. attended St. Francis
9 DePaul Elementary School and Chicago Vocational High School
10 in Chicago and Illinois State University in Normal; and
11 WHEREAS, James D. Johnson, Jr. served in the United
12 States Navy on the USS Jouette Battleship Missile Destroyer
13 for one tour in Vietnam; and
14 WHEREAS, James D. Johnson, Jr. was a carpenter for nearly
15 25 years; he held several positions at various companies,
16 including Inland Steel Company in Chicago, Schwulst Building
17 Construction in Bloomington, and Marathon Ashland Petroleum
18 Refinery in Robinson, where he was employed at the time of
19 his death; and
20 WHEREAS, James D. Johnson, Jr. was a member of the
21 Carpenter's Union-Local 63; and
22 WHEREAS, The passing of James D. Johnson, Jr. will be
23 deeply felt by all who knew him, especially his mother,
24 Nathalie Johnson; his sister, Angela B. Morris; his brother
25 and sister-in-law, John E. and Alexis Patterson; his nieces,
26 Angel Danielle and Rekia; his nephews, Zachary, David, and
27 Joshua; his great nieces, Angel and Imani; his uncle, Harry
28 Tyner; his cousins, Harry Jr., Larry, Edward, and Denise; and
29 a host of other relatives, friends and neighbors; therefore,
30 be it

1 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
2 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
3 we mourn, along with all who knew him, the death of James D.
4 Johnson, Jr. of Bloomington, Illinois; and be it further
5 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
6 presented to the family of James D. Johnson, Jr.
