1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives wish to express their sincere condolences to
4 the family and friends of Shelley Burger of Wilmette,
5 Illinois, who passed away on August 4, 2000; and
6 WHEREAS, Shelley Burger, a Kenilworth, Illinois native,
7 graduated from New Trier High School in 1970 and the
8 University of Iowa in 1974; and
9 WHEREAS, Shelley Burger taught developmentally disabled
10 children for ten years at several schools on the North Shore;
11 she then switched careers to sell ad space in such
12 publications as Crain's Chicago Business and Chicago Social
13 Magazine; and
14 WHEREAS, Shelley Burger volunteered with Resolve Support
15 Group, which assists couples trying to have children as well
16 as those unable to have children; she was also an animal
17 lover who enjoyed traveling; and
18 WHEREAS, The passing of Shelley Burger will be deeply
19 felt by all who knew and loved her, especially her husband of
20 13 years, Robert Burger; her mother, Elizabeth Telfer; and
21 her sisters, Bari Riedel and Marilee Luttig; therefore, be it
22 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
23 NINETY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
24 we mourn, along with all who knew her, the death of Shelley
25 Burger; and be it further
26 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
27 presented to the family of Shelley Burger.
