 1                    AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 1088

 2        AMENDMENT NO.     .  Amend Senate Bill 1088 on page 1, by
 3    replacing line 9 with the following:
 4        "(a)  The United States Environmental  Protection  Agency
 5    (USEPA)  has found that the State Implementation Plans (SIPs)
 6    of  23  jurisdictions  in  the  eastern  United  States   are
 7    deficient  with  regard  to  nitrogen  oxide (NOx) emissions.
 8    Therefore, USEPA has  issued  a  call  for  SIPs,  in  effect
 9    requiring  states  like  Illinois to address reduction of NOx
10    emissions from sources within the State.
11        (b)  The General Assembly finds:"; and

12    on page 1, line 15, by replacing "(b)" with "(c)".
