1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Senate were saddened to learn
3 of the death of Thomas E. Dorn, a former village president of
4 Clarendon Hills and a former member of the DuPage County
5 Planning Commission, on Monday, February 1, 1999; and
6 WHEREAS, He was born in Los Angeles and raised in
7 Albuquerque; he received a bachelor's degree in electrical
8 engineering at the University of New Mexico and a law degree
9 from Loyola University in Chicago; and
10 WHEREAS, He was a patent attorney and partner in the firm
11 of Dorn, McEachran, Jambor and Keating; and
12 WHEREAS, He served in the United States Army in the 44th
13 Infantry Division during World War II; and
14 WHEREAS, Mr. Dorn was a president of the Prospect School
15 PTA and the Little League Baseball organization; he held
16 memberships in the Salt Creek Club and the Hinsdale Racquet
17 Club; and
18 WHEREAS, His passing will be deeply felt by his family
19 and friends, especially his wife, Barbara; his son, Thomas;
20 his daughters, Marilyn Dorn and Karen Cochran; and four
21 grandchildren; therefore, be it
22 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIRST GENERAL
23 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we note with sorrow
24 and regret the death of Thomas E. Dorn and extend our sincere
25 condolences to his family and friends; and be it further
26 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
27 presented to his widow, Barbara Dorn.
