1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Senate were saddened to learn
3 of the recent death of George M. Youhn, a retired chairman of
4 the National Railroad Labor Arbitration Board, at his home in
5 Hinsdale; and
6 WHEREAS, Born in Chicago, Mr. Youhn was a 45-year
7 resident of Downers Grove and a former director of labor
8 relations for the Burlington Northern Railroad; and
9 WHEREAS, He was a veteran of the United States Army,
10 having served as a Lieutenant during World War II; he was
11 awarded the Bronze Star and five bronze battle stars for
12 service in Europe; and
13 WHEREAS, He was a member of the American Legion Post 80
14 and Council 3738 of the Knights of Columbus; and
15 WHEREAS, His passing will be deeply felt by his family
16 and friends; therefore, be it
17 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIRST GENERAL
18 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we note with sorrow
19 and regret the death of George M. Youhn and extend our
20 sincere condolences to his family and friends; and be it
21 further
22 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
23 presented to the family of George M. Youhn.
