1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to
3 acknowledge the memory of Joan Arlene Legat of Waukegan,
4 Illinois, who passed away February 22, 1999; and
5 WHEREAS, Joan Legat was born in Elgin, Illinois, on
6 December 7, 1936; she had lived in Waukegan most of her life;
7 and
8 WHEREAS, Joan Legat was a member of the First United
9 Methodist Church of Waukegan; she was the President of Senior
10 Services Waukegan Emblem Club; she was a member of the
11 Women's Golf Association of Glen Flora Country Club; she was
12 a Foundation Board member of S.E.D.O.L., Friends of Victory
13 Board; she was a Foundation Board Member College of Lake
14 County; and she was associated with the Little Fort Chapter
15 of the D.A.R.; Joan also served as the Executive Secretary
16 for Legat Architects; and
17 WHEREAS, Joan Legat is survived by her husband, Joseph J.
18 Legat; her daughter, Lori L. (George) Cline; her son, Joseph
19 M. Legat; her mother, Marian Marsh Hudson; her sister, Andrea
20 Sullivan; her sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Marsh and Theresa
21 (Albert) Roso; her mother-in-law, Angela Legat; her
22 brother-in-law, James (Judy) Legat; her step-brother, Dr.
23 Albert (Mary) Hudson; her step-grandchildren, Kevin and Brad
24 Cline; as well as nieces, nephews, and step nieces; she was
25 preceded in death by her father, Gerald H. Marsh, and her
26 brother, Gary Marsh; therefore, be it
27 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIRST GENERAL
28 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
29 her family and friends, the death of Joan Arlene Legat of
30 Waukegan, Illinois; may they find peace and comfort in this
31 time of need; and be it further

1 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
2 presented to the family of Joan Legat.
