1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Senate were saddened to learn
3 of the recent death of Celestine Quinn of Chicago; and
4 WHEREAS, She was born on May 3, 1917 in Magnolia,
5 Mississippi, the daughter of Alma and Will Sutton; at the age
6 of 5, she moved to Chicago; she attended Forestville
7 Elementary and Hyde Park High Schools; and
8 WHEREAS, On August 2, 1935. she was married to the late
9 Samuel Quinn; to this union four children were born; and
10 WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her husband,
11 Samuel; her son, Cleatus; and her grandchildren, Aderian and
12 Samuel III; and
13 WHEREAS, She became a dedicated employee of Crane Packing
14 Company for ten years and then retired; she was a loyal
15 member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church; and
16 WHEREAS, Her passing will be deeply felt by her family
17 and friends, especially her children, Samuel, Celestine, and
18 Donald; her daughter-in-law, Edith; her grandchildren,
19 Steven, Cleatus Jr., Angelo, Jerry, Derrick, Alma, Lloyd,
20 Edith Ann, Nicole, and Traci; and several
21 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
22 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIRST GENERAL
23 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we note with sorrow
24 and regret the death of Celestine Quinn and extend our
25 sincere condolences to her family and friends; and be it
26 further
27 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
28 presented to the family of Celestine Quinn.
