1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3 to learn of the death of Mr. Leonard Junior Hughes, who
4 recently passed away; and
5 WHEREAS, Leonard Hughes was born in Centreville, Illinois
6 on September 16, 1943; his parents were Leonard Richard
7 Hughes, Sr., and Laura Hughes; and
8 WHEREAS, Leonard Hughes took Jesus Christ as his Savior
9 on April 7, 1963 and joined the Morning Star Missionary
10 Baptist Church in East St. Louis, Illinois; on July 26, 1974
11 he married Francine Roberts and together they had two sons;
12 and
13 WHEREAS, Leonard Hughes was a graduate of the East St.
14 Louis public schools and the State of Illinois Police
15 Academy; he had been employed with the Mallindkrodt Chemical
16 Company in St. Louis, Missouri since 1989; and
17 WHEREAS, Leonard Hughes is survived by his wife,
18 Francine; his children, Maureen (Charles) Williams, Kimberly
19 Brown, LaShae Hughes, August Hughes, and Kimmershae Hughes;
20 his four brothers, Billy (Claudia) Hughes, Mitchell (Marilyn)
21 Hughes, Jerry Hughes, and Timmie Young; his sisters, Carroll
22 (Danny) Hubbard, and Linda Hughes; his grandchildren, Charles
23 Williams, Jr., Alicia Dominique Moore, and Charla M.
24 Williams; his stepmother, Louisa Hughes; his great aunt,
25 Artie McWherter; his many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews,
26 cousins, other relatives, and many friends; therefore, be it
27 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIRST GENERAL
28 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
29 all that knew him, the death of Leonard Hughes of East St.
30 Louis, Illinois; and be it further
31 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
