1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3 to learn of the death of Wilmer "Wil" Botterbush of Godfrey,
4 Illinois, who recently passed away; and
5 WHEREAS, Wilmer "Wil" Botterbush was born in Chicago and
6 graduated from Shurtleff College in Alton; Wilmer "Wil"
7 Botterbush worked for Owens-Illinois Glass Inc., where he is
8 credited with developing a lubricant that kills algae in
9 intravenous bottles; he worked as a pharmaceutical salesman
10 for 30 years, until his retirement in 1989; and
11 WHEREAS, In 1995 he founded Botterbush and Associates of
12 Godfrey with his sons, Ray and Kevin; and
13 WHEREAS, Wilmer "Wil" Botterbush devoted more than 40
14 years to the Piasa Bird Council of the Boy Scouts of America;
15 he was awarded the Silver Beaver, the highest volunteer award
16 given by the Boy Scouts, in 1984; Wilmer "Wil" Botterbush was
17 the father of three Eagle Scouts, and is credited with giving
18 to Camp Warren Levis, a Boy Scout camp in Godfrey; and
19 WHEREAS, Wilmer "Wil" Botterbush was a Republican
20 precinct committeeman, serving on the Godfrey Township Board
21 of Trustees after his election in 1989; Wilmer "Wil"
22 Botterbush supported the drive to incorporate the village of
23 Godfrey; and
24 WHEREAS, Wilmer "Wil" Botterbush is survived by his three
25 sons, Ray, Kevin, and Tim; his two grandsons; and his two
26 brothers; therefore, be it
27 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIRST GENERAL
28 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
29 all that knew him, the death of Wilmer "Wil" Botterbush of
30 Godfrey, Illinois; and be it further

1 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
2 presented to the family of Wilmer "Wil" Botterbush.
