1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Senate were saddened to learn
3 of the sudden death of Mr. Henry Louis Medley of East St.
4 Louis on Tuesday, January 18, 2000; and
5 WHEREAS, Mr. Medley graduated from Illinois Wesleyan
6 University in Bloomington; and
7 WHEREAS, Mr. Medley was a teacher and head wrestling
8 coach at East St. Louis Senior High School; he had been with
9 East St. Louis District 189 since 1971; and
10 WHEREAS, He was committed to helping and guiding the
11 young men that he had coached to further their education; he
12 was considered a role model by all; and
13 WHEREAS, His passing will be deeply felt by his family
14 and friends, especially his wife, Redina Medley; his
15 daughter, Nzinga K. Medley; his sisters and brother-in-law,
16 Glynda Chapple, Bernice and Ronald Bolden, and Imogene
17 Archie; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Albert and Ann
18 Medley, William T. and Rena Wilkins, Rev. James and Ann
19 Wilkins, Rev. Robert and Alice Medley, Andrew and Florene
20 Medley, Charles and Mary Medley, Allen Medley, and George and
21 Betty Archie; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives,
22 and friends; therefore, be it
23 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIRST GENERAL
24 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we note with sorrow
25 and regret the death of Mr. Henry L. Medley and extend our
26 sincere condolences to his family and friends; and be it
27 further
28 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
29 presented to his widow, Mrs. Redina Medley.
