1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to
3 express their sincere condolences to the family and friends
4 of Peter Goudeaux, Jr., who recently passed away; and
5 WHEREAS, Peter Goudeaux, Jr. was born on February 6, 1918
6 in New Orleans, Louisiana; his parents were Viola Hamilton
7 and Peter Goudeaux, Sr.; and
8 WHEREAS, Peter Goudeaux, Jr. accepted Jesus Christ as his
9 Savior at an early age, under the leadership of Reverend
10 Thomas of St. Mary's IV Baptist Church in New Orleans; he
11 moved to Illinois in the 1950's, where he worked, at
12 different times, for the Cyclone Fence Company, and the
13 Glencoe, Winnetka, and Northlake Post Offices; he was a
14 32-degree Mason and a member of the Rufus Mitchell Lodge #107
15 in Waukegan, Illinois; and
16 WHEREAS, Peter Goudeaux, Jr. served as an Associate
17 Minister at First Corinthian M.B. Church under the leadership
18 of Reverend Jonas Porter; after the passing of Reverend
19 Porter, Peter Goudeaux, Jr. was elected the new Pastor; and
20 WHEREAS, Peter Goudeaux, Jr. is survived by his wife,
21 Barbara; his sons, Peter Goudeaux III, and Nolan (Alice)
22 Goudeaux; his daughters, Patricia Simon, Carolyn (Irvin)
23 Williams, Tamara (John) Goudeaux-Stanley, Michelyn (Walker)
24 Woods, and Deborah Crowe; his thirteen grandchildren; his one
25 great-grandchild; his sisters, Mary Hamilton, Nevetta
26 (Theodore) Harris, and Bernadine (Clyde) Lucas; and many
27 nieces, nephews, and other very special friends; therefore,
28 be it
29 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIRST GENERAL
30 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we extend our
31 condolences to all who knew and loved Peter Goudeaux, Jr.; he

1 will be remembered for his good will and his red beans and
2 rice; and be it further
3 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
4 presented to the family of Peter Goudeaux, Jr.
