1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to
3 extend their sincere condolences to the family and friends of
4 Joseph A. "Madhouse Joe" Jacknewitz, of Fairview Heights,
5 Illinois, who recently passed away; and
6 WHEREAS, Joseph A. Jacknewitz was born in East St. Louis,
7 Illinois, on April 7, 1916; and
8 WHEREAS, Joseph A. Jacknewitz was the proprietor of Joe's
9 Madhouse Tavern from 1933 to 1954; he worked as an ironworker
10 for thirty years with Ironworkers Local 392 in East St.
11 Louis; and
12 WHEREAS, Joseph A. Jacknewitz was a member of Our Lady of
13 the Assumption Catholic Church in Fairview Heights, as well
14 as the Men's Club; he was a trustee of the Fairview Heights
15 Street Lighting District; he was a member of the Disabled
16 American War Veterans, the Polish American Veterans, and a
17 4th Degree life member of the Knights of Columbus Council
18 592; and
19 WHEREAS, Joseph A. Jacknewitz served in the United States
20 Army during World War II; and
21 WHEREAS, Joseph A. Jacknewitz is survived by his sons,
22 Dennis (Carol) Jacknewitz and David (Pamela) Jacknewitz; his
23 grandchildren, Matthew, Katie, Jennifer, and Michael; and his
24 many friends; therefore, be it
25 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIRST GENERAL
26 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
27 all that knew and loved him, Joseph A. Jacknewitz of Fairview
28 Heights, Illinois; and be it further
29 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
30 presented to the family of Joseph A. Jacknewitz.
