1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to
3 extend their sincere condolences to the family and friends of
4 William J. Banghart, who recently passed away; and
5 WHEREAS, William J. Banghart was born in Greenfield,
6 Illinois on August 3, 1918; his parents were Peter and
7 Appalonia Banghart; and
8 WHEREAS, William J. Banghart was a veteran of the United
9 States Army Air Corps, serving in World War II in Europe; he
10 served as a tail-gunner on a B-17, completing more than 25
11 combat missions; and
12 WHEREAS, He was an employee of Sears and of Simpson Motor
13 Co.; he owned and operated the Sierra Motel in Carrollton
14 from 1957 to 1974; he was a rural mail carrier for 27 years;
15 he was also a 50-year member of the Carrollton American
16 Legion Post; and
17 WHEREAS, On June 11, 1951 he married Naomi Fox in
18 Carrollton; and
19 WHEREAS, William J. Banghart is survived by his son and
20 daughter-in-law, James and Deborah Banghart; his
21 grandchildren, Mrs. Robert (Jill) Barnett and John Banghart;
22 his great-grandchild, Dylan Barnett; and his sisters, Irene
23 Fitzsimmons and Frances "Patty" Lawrence; therefore, be it
24 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIRST GENERAL
25 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
26 all that knew him, the death of William J. Banghart of
27 Carrollton, Illinois; and be it further
28 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
29 presented to the family of William J. Banghart.
