1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to
3 extend their sincere condolences to the family and friends of
4 Larry Timoney of Springfield, Illinois, who recently passed
5 away; and
6 WHEREAS, Larry Timoney was born in Springfield, Illinois
7 on October 27, 1934; his parents were Lawrence C. and
8 Marcella Hunt Timoney; in 1956 he married Margaret A. Carter;
9 and
10 WHEREAS, Larry Timoney was employed by the Illinois
11 Secretary of State's Office from 1963 to 1970 as a driver's
12 license supervisor, and from 1970 to 1997 as the
13 administrative assistant to the mayor of the City of
14 Springfield; and
15 WHEREAS, Larry Timoney was a member of St. Joseph's and
16 St. Aloysius Church, Knights of Columbus 4175, Illinois State
17 Retirees, Illinois Municipal Retirees, and past president of
18 St. Joseph's Holy Name Society; he was an active volunteer
19 for Sacred Heart Griffin High School, Ursuline Academy, St.
20 Joseph's Home, St. John's Breadline, Meals on Wheels, Daily
21 Bread, and the Senior Citizen's Center; and he was a board
22 member of Ursuline Academy; and
23 WHEREAS, Larry Timoney served as the first vice chairman
24 of the Sangamon County Democratic Committee, past president
25 of Northern Democrats, and as a precinct committeeman; Larry
26 Timoney was a graduate of Cathedral High School, and he
27 served in the United States Army; and
28 WHEREAS, The passing of Larry Timoney will be felt by all
29 that knew and loved him, especially his wife, Margaret; his
30 daughters, Paula (Emile Snijders), Laura "Mickey", and
31 Bridget; his sons, Kevin (Debra), Patrick "Tim" (Cindy), and

1 Martin; his four grandsons; his sister, Rosemary; and many
2 nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; therefore, be it
3 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIRST GENERAL
4 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
5 all that knew him, the death of Larry Timoney of Springfield,
6 Illinois; and be it further
7 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8 presented to the family of Larry Timoney.
