1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to
3 extend their sincere sympathies upon hearing of the death of
4 Dennis M. Palsen of Carlinville, Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, Dennis Palsen was born in Carlinville on April
6 20, 1935; his parents were Adolph Palsenberger and Mary Ann
7 Churovich Peretti; in 1957 he married Arlene R. Keyes in
8 Chicago; and
9 WHEREAS, Dennis Palsen was a 1953 graduate of Carlinville
10 Community High School and attended Blackburn College and the
11 University of Illinois; and
12 WHEREAS, Dennis Palsen began his career working at Woods
13 Radio Shop in 1951; in 1965 he became a partner in
14 Woods-Palsen Appliance Co., which he owned and operated until
15 his passing; and
16 WHEREAS, Mr. Palsen was a member of Federated Church in
17 Carlinville, where he served on the board of trustees and the
18 pastoral relations commission; he was a past president of the
19 Carlinville Jaycees and the Carlinville Rotary Club; he was a
20 Paul Harris Fellow, a Rotary governor aid, and a chairman of
21 the Carlinville Board of Police Commissioners for many years;
22 and
23 WHEREAS, The passing of Dennis M. Palsen will be deeply
24 felt by all who knew him, especially his wife, Arlene; his
25 sons, Matthew (Lori), Peter (Laurie), Philip (Erika), and
26 David (Kathy); his daughter, Nichole; his seven
27 grandchildren; his mother, Mary Peretti; and his nieces,
28 nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it
29 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIRST GENERAL
30 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we send our sincere
31 condolences to the family and friends of Dennis M. Palsen;

2 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
3 presented to the family of Dennis M. Palsen.
