1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to
3 express their sincere condolences to the family and friends
4 of Charlotte Louise Delp, who passed away on December 13,
5 2000; and
6 WHEREAS, Charlotte Louise Delp was born on February 10,
7 1926, in Cumberland County to James M. and Cecile Yanaway
8 Drakeford; and
9 WHEREAS, Charlotte Louise Delp co-owned and published the
10 Toledo Democrat for 30 years from 1968 to 1998; the newspaper
11 was purchased and operated by her parents from 1926 to 1968
12 and is recognized as the oldest business in Cumberland
13 County; and
14 WHEREAS, Charlotte Louise Delp was a director of First
15 National Bank in Toledo and First Neighborhood Bancshares
16 Inc.; and held memberships at the Illinois Press Association,
17 the Toledo Order of Eastern Star and White Shrine, the Toledo
18 Domestic Science Club and the Toledo Domestic American Legion
19 Auxiliary; and
20 WHEREAS, The passing of Charlotte Louise Delp will be
21 deeply felt by all who knew and loved her, especially her
22 daughter, Cheryl (husband, Nick) Nichols; her sons, Wayne
23 (wife, Wendy) Neese, and B.L. Neese; her stepdaughter, Jean
24 Delp; her stepsons, Lee (wife, Marcy) Delp, and Kent Delp;
25 her sister, Dorothy (husband, Jack) Vick; her nephew, Paul
26 (wife, Joanne) Vick; her niece, Linda (husband, Roger)
27 Freund; her 11 grandchildren; and her 11 great-grandchildren;
28 therefore, be it
29 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIRST GENERAL
30 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
31 all who knew her, the death of Charlotte Louise Delp of

2 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
3 presented to the family of Charlotte Louise Delp.
