Sec. 20. Duties of employers and employees. (a) Every public employer must provide reasonable protection to the lives, health, and safety of its employees and must furnish to each of its employees employment and a workplace which are free from recognized hazards that cause or are likely to cause death or serious physical harm to its employees. (b) Every public employer must comply with the occupational safety and health standards promulgated under this Act. (c) Every public employer must keep its employees informed of their protections and obligations under this Act, including the provisions of applicable standards or rules adopted under this Act. (d) Every public employer must furnish its employees with information regarding hazards in the workplace, including information about suitable precautions, relevant symptoms, and emergency treatment. (e) Every employee must comply with the rules that are promulgated from time to time by the Director under this Act and that are applicable to the employee's actions and conduct.
