AN ACT concerning children.
|
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
represented in the General Assembly:
|
Section 5. The Intergovernmental Missing Child Recovery |
Act of 1984 is amended by adding Section 7.2 as follows:

(325 ILCS 40/7.2 new) |
Sec. 7.2. Report of missing child under 18 years of age; |
information. |
(a) At the time of first contact with an individual making |
a report of a missing child who is under 18 years of age, the |
local law enforcement agency shall provide the individual with |
information, the contents of which shall be prepared by the |
Office of the Attorney General and posted on its website, that |
includes, but is not limited to, the following: |
(1) The 24-hour toll-free telephone numbers for: |
(A) the National Center for Missing and Exploited |
Children; and |
(B) the National Runaway Safeline. |
(2) A description of the services provided to families |
of missing children by the National Center for Missing and |
Exploited Children and the National Runaway Safeline. |
(b) The information required under subsection (a) may be |
provided by the local law enforcement agency in a format that |
