    AN ACT concerning government.
 
    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
represented in the General Assembly:
 
    Section 5. The State Commemorative Dates Act is amended by
changing Section 90 as follows:
 
    (5 ILCS 490/90)  (from Ch. 1, par. 3051-90)
    Sec. 90. Veterans Day. The eleventh day of November of each
year shall be a holiday to be known as Veterans Day and to be
observed throughout the State as a day to hold appropriate
exercises in commemoration of the victory of the United States
Army, the United States Navy, and the United States Air Force,
the United States Marines, the United States Coast Guard, and
the United States Merchant Marines in all wars.

    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
becoming law.
