AN ACT concerning government.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The State Commemorative Dates Act is amended by

changing Section 50 as follows:

(5 ILCS 490/50) (from Ch. 1, par. 3051-50)

Sec. 50. Gold Star Mothers Day. The Governor shall annually

designate by
official proclamation the

last ~~second~~ Sunday in

September ~~August~~

 as Gold Star Mothers' Day
to be observed

throughout the State as a day to honor and commemorate ~~for the~~

~~purpose of holding appropriate ceremonies in commemoration of~~

the mothers of men and women who
gave their lives while serving

with the armed forces of the United States
in time of war or

during a period of hostilities.
