AN ACT concerning health.
|
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
represented in the General Assembly:
|
Section 5. The Mental Health and Developmental |
Disabilities Code is amended by changing Section 3-807 as |
follows:
|

Sec. 3-807. No respondent may be found subject to |
involuntary admission
on an inpatient or outpatient basis |
unless at least one psychiatrist, clinical social worker, or |
clinical
psychologist, or qualified examiner who has examined |
the respondent him testifies in person at the hearing. The
|
respondent may waive the requirement of the testimony subject |
to the
approval of the court. |

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
becoming law.
