AN ACT concerning government.
|
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
represented in the General Assembly:
|
Section 5. The State Commemorative Dates Act is amended by |
adding Section 175 as follows:
|
(5 ILCS 490/175 new) |
Sec. 175. Eat Local, Buy Illinois Products Day. The first |
Saturday of each month is designated as Eat Local, Buy Illinois |
Products Day to promote local food initiatives, Illinois |
agribusiness, and to encourage residents to re-invest in the |
local economy. The Department of Agriculture's Illinois |
Product Logo Program shall assist in increasing awareness and |
sales of Illinois food and agribusiness products.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
becoming law.
