AN ACT concerning education.
| ||||
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
| ||||
represented in the General Assembly:
| ||||
Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Section | ||||
22-77 as follows: | ||||
(105 ILCS 5/22-77 new) | ||||
(Section scheduled to be repealed on July 1, 2014) | ||||
Sec. 22-77. Young Adults Heroin Use Task Force. | ||||
(a) There is created the Young Adults Heroin Use Task Force | ||||
to address the growing problem of heroin use in high schools | ||||
across this State. The Task Force shall consist of all of the | ||||
following members: | ||||
(1) Four members of the House of Representatives, | ||||
appointed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives. | ||||
(2) Three members of the House of Representatives, | ||||
appointed by the Minority Leader of the House of | ||||
Representatives. | ||||
(3) Four members of the Senate, appointed by the | ||||
President of the Senate. | ||||
(4) Three members of the Senate, appointed by the | ||||
Minority Leader of the Senate. | ||||
(5) One representative of a statewide association | ||||
representing school boards, appointed by the Governor. |
(6) One representative of a statewide association | ||
representing school principals, appointed by the Governor. | ||
Members of the Task Force shall serve without compensation. | ||
(b) The Department of Human Services' Division of | ||
Alcoholism and Substance Abuse shall provide administrative | ||
and other support to the Task Force. | ||
(c) The Task Force shall conduct a study on the heroin use | ||
problem in high schools and suggest programs for high schools | ||
to use to address the problem, which programs may involve local | ||
law enforcement agencies. | ||
(d) On or before June 30, 2014, the Task Force shall report | ||
its findings and recommendations to the General Assembly, by | ||
filing copies of its report as provided in Section 3.1 of the | ||
General Assembly Organization Act, and to the Governor. | ||
(e) The Task Force is abolished and this Section is | ||
repealed on July 1, 2014.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon | ||
becoming law.
