| 2 | | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 2063 by replacing |
| 3 | | everything after the enacting clause with the following:

| 4 | | "Section 5. The Code of Civil Procedure is amended by |
| 5 | | adding Section 13-202.4 as follows: |
| 6 | | (735 ILCS 5/13-202.4 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 13-202.4. Victim of trafficking. |
| 8 | | A victim of trafficking may bring a civil action against a |
| 9 | | person who pleads guilty to or is convicted of a violation of |
| 10 | | Section 10-9 of the Criminal Code of 2012 to recover actual |
| 11 | | damages sustained by the victim, court costs, including |
| 12 | | reasonable attorney's fees, and punitive damages determined by |
| 13 | | the court. An action commenced under this Section shall be |
| 14 | | filed within 10 years after the latest of the following events: |
| 15 | | (1) the final order in the related case; |
| 16 | | (2) the victim's emancipation from the defendant; or |
